• Twin Cities International Elementary School (TIES) is currently accepting applications for the following positions for the 2018-2019 school year. TIES will be merging with Minnesota International Middle School (MIMS) on July 1st, 2018, to be named Twin Cities International Schools (TCIS), a K-8 school. These positions apply to the Elementary School (K-4) unless otherwise noted.

    Kindergarten - 4th Grade Elementary School Teachers

    Requirements: Applicants must hold a valid Minnesota teaching license or possess a valid Minnesota teaching license prior to date of hire.

    Responsibilities: The teacher will be responsible for a class of students, creating lesson plans, working on collaborative teams, and contributing positively to the learning and development of students. Experience with standards-based instruction, English-Language Learners and common assessments a plus.

    Licensed School Nurse (LSN), (K-8)

    Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing plus one of the following requirements: Licensed as Professional Registered Nurse by Minnesota Board of Nursing, Certified as a Public Health Nurse by the Minnesota Board of Nursing, Licensed as a Public School Nurse by Minnesota Department of Education or required to obtain license if not currently licensed.

    Responsibilities: CPR/First Aid certification, ability to triage, react quickly, calmly and decisively, good oral and written communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality. Provide daily health care needs for students and staff as needed, maintains and updates student health records, performs health screenings and assessments for students referred for possible health concerns, screens and evaluates findings during screenings, provides assessment, intervention, evaluation and referral for medical care for students with chronic conditions and/or emergency conditions, coordinates the usage/supply of first aid supplies, plans and implements school health management policies and protocols, any additional duties as assigned.     Special Education Teacher (K-4)

    Requirements: Applicants must hold a current MN Teaching License in Special Education, SLD by hire date. A dual licensure is preferred (SLD, EBD, DCD). 

    Responsibilities: The teacher will be responsible for writing and implementing IEP goals, strong curriculum planning, behavior management, instruction for students on your case load, working on collaborative teams, and contributing positively to the learning and development of students. Experience with standards-based instruction and English Language learners a plus. Any additional duties as assigned.

    ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) Licensed Special Education Teacher (K-4)

    Requirements: Applicants must hold a current MN ASD Special Education teaching license by hire date.

    Responsibilities: Case management and teaching high needs students with federal setting 2 and 3 designation. Provide support to staff in supporting students who are on the autism spectrum as well as students with unique learning needs. Assist with student behavior and sensory support, classroom setup, coordination of staff training, intervention ideas and data collection systems. Other duties may be assigned.

    EBD (Emotional and Behavioral Disorder) Licensed Special Education Teacher for a Setting 3 Classroom (K-4)

    Requirements: Applicants must hold a current MN Special Education Teaching License by hire date.

    Responsibilities: Case management and teaching high needs students with federal setting 2 and 3 designation.     Building Substitute Teacher, (K-4)

    Requirements: Applicants must hold a valid MN Teaching License or a valid Long-call Substitute Teaching license.

    Responsibilities: Teaching assigned grade levels and subjects using the plans set forth by the absent teacher, meeting the needs of each student through individual, small group and/or large group instruction, following all policies and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates, clear communication with both staff and students and contributing positively to the learning and development of students. Any additional duties as assigned. Experience with standards-based instruction, English Language learners and common assessments is a plus.
