In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and in compliance with the MN Governor's executive order 20-82, Twin Cities International Schools (TCIS) will begin its 2020-21 school year on a Distance Learning Instructional Model based on the MN Safe Learning Plan 2020-21 guidance and current country data.

After clarification with the MN Dept. of Health on 8-11-2020, 7th and 8th grade students will be required to follow the recommendations for secondary students within the MN Safe Learning Plan SY 2020-21. With the prediction for Hennepin County 14-day COVID-19 rates to reach the threshold for secondary students at the end of August, our 7th and 8th graders would only be able to begin school in the Distance Learning model.  With over 250 family requests (over 400 students gr K-6) and the 250 7th and 8th grade students on distance learning, we would be starting the year with over 70% of our students on distance learning.  In order to provide the best instructional programming, TCIS administration feels it is in its best interest to begin in this model for all students.
