    Special Education Teacher (EBD, ABS or LD), Middle School (5-8) 2019-20

    Twin Cities International Schools (TCIS) is now hiring for an EBD, ABS or LD Licensed Special Education Teacher for the remainder of the 2019-20 School year. This position will be working within the Middle School setting (5-8). Applicants must hold a current MN Special Education Teaching License by hire date.

    Duties include, but not limited to: Case management and teaching students with federal setting 2 and 3 designation. Provide support to staff in serving students who have behavioral challenges as well as students with unique learning needs. Assist with student behavior and sensory support, classroom setup, coordination of staff training, intervention ideas and data collection systems. Other duties may be assigned. 

    Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of behavior concerns and how they impact learning. Exhibit skills at determining function of behavior. Exhibit skills in behavior management. Maintain certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention. Able to work as part of a collaborative team. Able to prioritize work tasks to address the most critical issues first. Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience with standards-based instruction and English Language learners a plus.

    Middle School Long-Call Substitute Teacher, Physical Education (Grades 5-8) 2019-2020

    Twin Cities International Schools is currently accepting applications for a Middle School (Grades 5-8) Long-Call Substitute Teacher for Physical Education. Start date of January 13th, 2020 with an approximate end date of March 5th, 2020. Interview process to be scheduled December 16th-20th, 2019 and January 6th-10th, 2020. Applicants must currently hold a valid Minnesota teaching license or possess a valid Minnesota teaching license prior to hire. We are a public charter school located in Minneapolis with a student enrollment of approximately 1,000 students.
    Responsibilities/Duties:

    • Work collaboratively with your Physical Education team and Middle School classroom teaching teams; 
    • Engage students in learning through best practice strategies, establishing high expectations for students;
    • Communicate effectively with parents, students and staff;
    • Plan, organize and deliver lessons consistent with MN state standards and Physical Education curriculum;
    • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all your students;
    • Follow all policies and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates;
    • Experience with standards-based instruction, English-Language Learners and common assessments a plus;

    Middle School Language Arts Teacher, (Grade 8) (1.0 FTE) 2019-2020

    Twin Cities International Schools is currently accepting applications for a 8th Grade English Language Arts Teacher Position for the remainder of the 2019-2020 School Year (June 9th, 2020). Immediate start date available. Applicants must currently hold a valid Minnesota teaching license or possess a valid Minnesota teaching license prior to hire. We are a public charter school located in Minneapolis with a student enrollment of approximately 1,000 students (K-8).
    Responsibilities/Duties:

    • Work collaboratively with your 8th Grade team and ELA PLC team; 
    • Engage students in learning through best practice strategies, establishing high expectations for students;
    • Communicate effectively with parents, students and staff;
    • Plan, organize and deliver lessons consistent with MN state standards and ELA curriculum;
    • Comfortable integrating technology into daily lesson plans;
    • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all your students;
    • Experience with standards-based instruction, English-Language Learners and common assessments a plus.

    Middle School Science Teacher, (Grade 8) (1.0 FTE) 2019-2020

    Twin Cities International Schools is currently accepting applications for a 8th Grade Science Teacher Position. Position available immediately throughout the remainder of the 2019-2020 School Year. Applicants must currently hold a valid Minnesota teaching license or possess a valid Minnesota teaching license prior to date of hire. We are a public charter school located in Minneapolis with a student enrollment of approximately 1,000 students (K-8).
    Responsibilities/Duties:

    • Work collaboratively with your 8th Grade team and Science PLC team; 
    • Engage students in learning through best practice strategies, establishing high expectations for students;
    • Communicate effectively with parents, students and staff;
    • Plan, organize and deliver lessons consistent with MN state standards and Science curriculum;
    • Comfortable integrating technology into daily lesson plans;
    • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all your students;
    • Experience with standards-based instruction, English-Language Learners and common assessments a plus.

    Registered Nurse (RN)/Licensed School Nurse (LSN), (K-8) (1.0 FTE)

    Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing plus one of the following requirements: Licensed as Professional Registered Nurse by Minnesota Board of Nursing, Certified as a Public Health Nurse by the Minnesota Board of Nursing, Licensed as a Public School Nurse by Minnesota Department of Education or required to obtain license if not currently licensed.
    Responsibilities Include, but not limited to: CPR/First Aid certification, ability to triage, react quickly, calmly and decisively, good oral and written communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality. Provide daily health care needs for students and staff as needed, maintains and updates student health records, performs health screenings and assessments for students referred for possible health concerns, screens and evaluates findings during screenings, provides assessment, intervention, evaluation and referral for medical care for students with chronic conditions and/or emergency conditions, coordinates the usage/supply of first aid supplies, plans and implements school health management policies and protocols, any additional duties as assigned.
