About: K-4 charter school founded by educational leaders in the East African community, that ultimately seeks to prepare students for successful and productive lives as United States citizens while allowing them to retain their unique cultural heritage.

Students: The majority of our 600+ students are children of East African heritage.

Curriculum: All classes are taught in English and students also attend Arabic classes. Bilingual educational assistants are present in the classrooms. Our school also has 3 mobile computer labs with regularly scheduled Technology classes. We use the Success For All Reading Program, Harcourt Math, Zaner-Bloser Handwrititng program, Collins Writing Program, Foss Science Kits and Houghton Mifflin Social Studies. Teachers also use Time for Kids and National Geographic Explorers Magazines to support the Science and Social Studies Curriculums.  Students take Physical Education and Media/Library classes in addition to Arabic and Technology.  Teachers use Responsive Classroom and ENVoY classroom management techniques as well as the SIOP Sheltered Instruction approach to teaching.

Organization: The school has a centralized administration led by School Director Randal Eckart and a School Board comprised of teachers and community members.
