Kelli Wilson - Assistant Director of Curriculum & Instruction
Kelli Wilson has been a classroom teacher for 10 years and has served as the Assistant Director of Curriculum and Instruction since 2006.  Kelli has worked primarily with Elementary age students from Kindergarten to 6th Grade in both California and Minneapolis.  Kelli received her Bachelor’s Degree from MN State University Moorhead, holds a Master’s of Arts Degree from Hamline University, and an Education Specialist Degree from St. Thomas University.  Kelli is a licensed teacher grades 1-6, and a licensed administrator.  Kelli works very closely with all stakeholders to enhance the educational experience for the students, families and staff members at Twin Cities International Elementary School. Kelli serves as the Testing Coordinator, English as a Second Language Coordinator, and ESEA/NCLB Title Programs Coordinator as well as designing and implementing Staff Development for the school.

Curriculum: All classes are taught in English, but students also attend Arabic language classes. Bilingual educational assistants are present in the classrooms to address the needs of English Language Learners. Our school has two mobile computer labs with regularly scheduled Technology classes, which teach to the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards. We use the Success For All Reading Program, Harcourt Math, Zaner-Bloser Handwrititng program, Collins Writing Program, Foss Science Kits and Houghton Mifflin Social Studies. Teachers also use Time for Kids and National Geographic Explorers Magazines to support the Science and Social Studies Curriculums.  Students take Physical Education and Media/Library classes in addition to Arabic and Technology.  Teachers use Responsive Classroom and ENVoY classroom management techniques as well as the SIOP Sheltered Instruction approach to teaching.
